What a Lazy K membership is.
One membership, two things it unlocks, and a clear account of what stays free forever. It is not on sale yet, and this page does not take money.
There is no checkout on this site. No price has been set, nothing here can charge you, and no card details exist anywhere in this system. Access is granted by hand by Lazy K today. When that changes, this page changes with it.
What stays free, permanently
This is not a trial and these are not going behind a wall later. The decision is recorded, with its reasoning, in the project’s own notes:
- Every calculator, planner and guide. Bodyweight, vitals, hay, pasture, towing, trim tracking, care calendars, trip checklists, annual cost. Signed out, no account.
- The whole trail search. Agency data, published sources, provenance and the map, for anyone.
- The services directory and every written guide.
What a free account adds
- Your saved records — results kept against the right horse, dated, so next spring you can see what last spring looked like.
- Rider reports on Horse Trails — parking, trailer turnaround, dog rules and recent conditions from riders who have been there.

What the contributing membership adds
One membership, and it unlocks both of these. Not two subscriptions, and not a choice between them.
Contribute to Horse Trails
Add and correct rider reports on any trail: parking, rig capacity, turnaround, dog rules, footing, downed timber, water crossings and the date you were there.
Every report is reviewed before other members see it, and carries no name, email or profile.
The Property Designer
Lay out a property to scale — barn, arena, round pen, paddocks, fencing, gates, driveways and emergency access — measured in acres, feet and perimeter, over an aerial you align yourself.
Members can draw without a membership; saving a plan is what the membership adds.
How access works, and why it is built this way
A membership is recorded as an entitlement on your account — one record per thing it unlocks. Two things follow from that, and both are deliberate:
- Being signed in never unlocks contributing. The check happens in the database rules rather than in the page, so it is not something a browser can talk its way past.
- Nothing ever asks “did they pay?” — only “do they hold this?” That is what will let a phone app, or any future way of paying, grant the same access without any of this being rebuilt.
If a membership lapses
You keep what you made. Saved plans and filed reports are not deleted, and deleting your own work never requires a membership. What lapses is the ability to add and to save. Reports you have already had approved stay where they are.
Before you decide anything
Lazy K administrators can read everything saved to an account — free or paid, including property plans and horse notes. That is deliberate and it is written out in full on the member privacy page, before you sign up rather than after.
Nothing on this page commits Lazy K to a future price, and nothing here is a promise that any particular feature stays free beyond those named above as permanent.

A free account keeps what the tools on this site work out—bodyweight, vitals, trim dates, hay and pasture plans—filed against the right horse and dated.
- Your saved records—results kept against each horse, with the date you took them.
- Rider reports on Horse Trails—parking, turnaround, dog rules and recent conditions, from riders who have been there.
- Nothing is required. Every tool and guide on this site works signed out, exactly as it does now.
Before you decide: Lazy K administrators can read everything saved to an account. That is said plainly on the privacy page, and it is the reason the tools do not require one.
